ept connector s.r.o

ept connector s.r.o. was established in 1993 and today it is a strong and stable company, which currently ranks among the most prominent engineering companies in the Sokolov region.

Its parent company is located in Peiting, Germany.

ept connector s.r.o. is a manufacturer of electrical engineering components - mainly contacts and connectors, which provide a removable electrical connection between two functional units.

Although the final product is electrical connector, it is a high precision engineering production.

ept connector s.r.o. utilizes modern technologies, e.g., high-precision cutting of metals, injection molding of plastics, semi-automatic and automatic insertion of contacts into plastic insulators, CNC machining and electroerosive machining.

ept connectors are used in telecommunications, data technology, industrial automation, medical technology and automotive electronics. However, ept connectors also play a key role in many other industries. These industries include any kind of transportation by air, road, water, pipeline as well as space flight. Connectors used in medical technology have special requirements with regard to cleaning and sterilization. In addition, there is the area of measurement and control technology, also in areas where process modeling and monitoring are used, e.g., in laboratories, etc. Last but not least, connectors used in military applications must be particularly robust and resistant to shock and vibration. Reliable connections in harsh environmental conditions are the number one priority.

1/ MAKIGAMI

Internship Assignment – Makigami Analysis of Non-Production Processes

Topic:

Identification of inefficient activities in non-production processes using Makigami analysis and proposal for optimization.

Goals:

Get familiar with the Makigami method and its application to non-production processes. Map and analyze a selected process, identify waste (Muda). Propose measures to improve process efficiency. Implement some of the proposed improvements and evaluate their impact.

2/ SMED

Activity Schedule: Introduction and Theoretical Preparation

Get familiar with the company, production processes, and specific machine/line.

Study part:

Principles of SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die).

Typical waste (Muda) during machine setup.

Basic Lean manufacturing tools.

Select a specific process or machine for SMED analysis.

Define key metrics – current setup time, main issues, number of setup changes per day/week/month.

3/ Process Optimization for Optimal Worker Utilization – Mannzeit (Terms used in ept)

Activity Schedule: Introduction and Theoretical Preparation Get familiar with the company, production processes, and specific machine/line.

Detailed analysis of the current setup process. List of inefficient steps and identified waste.

Final report and presentation of findings.
